The SEA MAX Universal Underwater TV Camera comprises a rugged deep water housing with a built‑in, wide angle or close up 10:1 zoom color TV camera module. Both a flat port and a domed port housing type is available. In addition to the wide angle and close up zoom TV camera modules, other types of TV camera modules can be installed, including a low‑light silicon intensified target (SIT) or a 3‑chip color TV camera module.

The TV camera modules are rigidly mounted inside the housing and electrically isolated from the housing and the water.  They incorporate the latest imaging technologies and are available in both the NTSC and PAL video standards. Both the wide angle and the close up zoom camera module includes auto iris, and the close up zoom camera module additionally includes remote focus and zoom.

The camera modules also provide a minimum of 480 lines of horizontal resolution and incorporate a 1/3‑inch super dynamic charged coupled device (CCD) and digital signal processing (DSP) for the widest available dynamic range. This combination provides excellent picture quality even under difficult lighting conditions.
