The MAX Light HID-200 is a remote light head package that includes a 150 watt high intensity discharge gas arc lamp, a connecting cable that can extend from 12 to more than 125 feet and an electronic ballast.  Due to the unique electronic ballast design and the special gas arc lamp, the MAX Light HID-200 produces the equivalent light of an older style 200 watt lamp.

This rugged lighting package has been field proven under the most extreme conditions.  It provides a wide, flat field flood beam of 140° without any spotty effects.  With a "bright white light" that is greater than 4800 K, it is ideal for high definition or standard video as well as still color photography.  The lighting package is rated for 3800 m standard and 6000 m optional depths.

The light head itself consists of a super efficient, shock tolerant polyurethane / titanium oxide reflector that allows up to 400% greater viewing range over quartz halogen lamps.  There is a glass dome containing the lamp and socket and a hard coat anodized aluminum body with a Wet-Mate type connector.  The remote feature of the light head provides for proper weight distribution on the ROV and easy mounting capability in restricted spaces.

The electronic ballast, included for each MAX Light HID-200, provides the power source and the high starting voltage required and is contained inside a hard coat anodized aluminum pressure housing.  There is an optional dual electronic ballast to power two MAX Light HID-100 gas arc lamps simultaneously.
